TM GE has a long, successful history in coordinated drive systems for the paper industry. We have an innovative design and testing process, coupled with world-class technology. Innovations in our project engineering include:
- Proposal specifications authored by technical leaders in the paper industry (average experience of 20 plus years).
- Functional specifications that include regulator one-line diagrams and operator station design.
- State-of-the-art factory system test with drive simulators, each incorporating a full motor model (also included in each as-shipped TM GE drive).
This allows complete testing of:
- Interface between the controller and drives
- Operator interface design
- Regulator sequencing
- System networks
Our commissioning team is made up of a combination of factory project engineers and local service engineers. At the completion of testing and commissioning, the local GE service engineers are intimately familiar with the system, providing invaluable local technical experts for system maintenance and on-site assistance and training.
Our drive products for this application include:
- TMdrive-10 – Family of low-voltage (440-690 V ac) converters and IGBT inverters.
- TMdrive-DC – Family of DC (500-1200 V dc) drives in several form factors.
- Dura-Bilt5i MV – Family of medium-voltage (2300-4160 V ac) drives.
- Innovation Series Controller – Drive system controller.
From the proposal specification through the commissioning and system maintenance, TM GE has a great team committed to making your project a success. Please call or email us using the contact information below.
TMEIC GE’s recent Paper Mill Engineer’s School, held in Roanoke, Virginia a success!
TMEIC GE’s Paper Mill Engineer’s School, held in Roanoke, dates May 3 – 7, 2010, was attended by 40 students. The Roanoke school continued the Company’s 25-year tradition of free schools.
The next schools are to be held in Campinas, Brazil, August 17 – 19, 2010 and Australia, October 19 – 21, 2010. Please check back later for the next PMES to be held in North America.

TMEIC GE to Hold Paper Engineers Schools in Brazil and Australia
Classes will share expertise in low and medium voltage drive systems technology.
The next Paper Mill Engineer’s Schools are to be held in Campinas, Brazil, August 17 – 19, 2010 and Australia, October 19 – 21, 2010. These innovative Schools will be presented by Paper Mill Application Engineers.
The 4 ½ day TMEIC School will provide in-depth, unbranded technical information for customers who want to understand drive selection, control and power requirements specific to the Paper Industry.
Classes will be taught by TMEIC GE application engineers who bring more than 100 years of combined industry experience to the classroom.
Tuition is free to qualified attendees; however, space is limited.
